Reflections from CTC Members on Why Our Work Matters Today

Happy Juneteenth weekend. While we celebrate the official abolition of slavery we know that Black people are yet not free in this country and cross the globe. As abolitionist Angela Y. Davis once said, "freedom is a constant struggle" for Black folks in this country. We at VOLAR count ourselves as the part of a global movement for Black life and Black liberation.

Below you'll find reflections from VOLAR Caretaking Council members on the meaning and resonance of our work during this period of ongoing anti-Black state violence, grassroots uprisings and rebellions, and global pandemic.
